Our "Izu Shinano Riesling 2022 Sweet" has been awarded Double Gold at the "SAKURA" Japan Women's Wine Awards 2024 (commonly known as the Sakura Awards), an international wine competition selected by women.

The judging was held twice , in Osaka and Tokyo, and the winners were announced yesterday, Valentine's Day.

What is the Sakura Award?

The Sakura Awards is an international wine competition that began in 2014 and is judged by Japanese women active in various fields of the wine industry.

The 11th event will be held in 2024 , on January 25th, 2024 in Osaka (Hotel Nikko Osaka) and on February 1st , 2024 in Tokyo (Hotel Gajoen Tokyo).

This year, 430 female judges blind-tasted 4,023 wines from 27 countries, and 324 were awarded the Double Gold Award. Of these, 21 were Japanese wines.

"Izu Shinano Riesling 2022 Sweet" is brewed using 100 % Shinano Riesling grapes grown in Izu. Shinano Riesling is a cross between Chardonnay and Riesling, and is characterized by its unique aromatic aroma. We have created a sweet wine that allows you to fully appreciate the fruity aromas reminiscent of white peach and apple, as well as the gorgeous aroma derived from fermentation.

With its refreshing sweetness, it is recommended not only as an aperitif but also as a drink during meals.
